(N/A) Demineralised water is water that is completely free from all soluble mineral salts (cations like $Na^+$,$Ca^{2+}$,$Mg^{2+}$ and anions like $Cl^-$,$SO_4^{2-}$,$HCO_3^-$).
It is obtained by passing water successively through a cation exchange resin (in $H^+$ form) and an anion exchange resin (in $OH^-$ form).
$1$. In the cation exchange process,$H^+$ ions exchange for $Na^+$,$Ca^{2+}$,$Mg^{2+}$ and other cations present in water:
$2RH_{(s)} + M^{2+}_{(aq)} \longrightarrow MR_{2(s)} + 2H^+_{(aq)}$
$2$. In the anion exchange process,$OH^-$ ions exchange for anions like $Cl^-$,$HCO_3^-$,$SO_4^{2-}$:
$R'NH_{2(s)} + X^-_{(aq)} \longrightarrow R'NH_3^+X^-_{(s)} + OH^-_{(aq)}$
Finally,$H^+$ and $OH^-$ ions react to form pure water:
$H^+_{(aq)} + OH^-_{(aq)} \longrightarrow H_2O_{(l)}$

$\Delta \lambda$ is the difference between the wavelength of the $K_{\alpha}$ line and the minimum wavelength of the continuous $X$-ray spectrum when the $X$-ray tube is operated at a voltage $V$. If the operating voltage is changed to $V/3$,then the above difference is $\Delta \lambda^{\prime}$. Then:

Two wires $A$ and $B$ are of the same material. Their lengths are in the ratio $1:2$ and their diameters are in the ratio $2:1$. When stretched by forces $F_A$ and $F_B$ respectively, they experience an equal increase in their lengths. Then the ratio $F_A/F_B$ is:

$A$ monoatomic ideal gas, initially at temperature $T_1$,is enclosed in a cylinder fitted with a frictionless piston. The gas is allowed to expand adiabatically to a temperature $T_2$ by releasing the piston suddenly. If $L_1$ and $L_2$ are the lengths of the gas columns before and after the expansion respectively, then the ratio $\frac{T_2}{T_1}$ is:

The maximum compression of the spring and the velocity of the block as it returns to the original position are respectively:
